The Choir’s season generally runs from August until the following May, concerts being performed only during this period.

As the Choir’s annual programme is drawn up some 12/18 months in advance any request for a performance needs to be made in good time.   

Preparation time for a concert is never less than 3 months.

Most concerts are given within a 20/25 mile radius of Dumfries and the Choir is familiar with several venues.   For other venues, where distance travel is involved, the time of a performance and bearing the cost of transport would require to be agreed in advance.

The Choir’s Conductor decides the content of any concert.

As a Registered Charity the Choir does not have any charging or fee structure.  The members give freely of their time and meet their own expenses.  There is however a fee payable to the Accompanist, the current figure would be provided.   

Any Guest Artiste(s), chosen by our Conductor to complement the choir, may command a fee.   Payment of this would need to be discussed. 

All performances are given on a voluntary basis allowing charitable organisations, churches etc. to raise funds for their own specific cause, thereby allowing both local and national bodies to benefit.

If it is felt appropriate, donations to the Choir by non-charitable or non-religious organisations, would be gratefully received and would go to Choir funds.

While advice can be given on advertising, printing of tickets etc., the actual booking of a venue, ticket sales and other administration items are the responsibility of those requesting a concert. The Choir’s logo should not be used on any printed matter.

Requests for the Choir to perform at wedding functions can be considered assuming they take place outwith the Choir closed seasons 

(i.e. September/May and over the Christmas break) and are within reasonable travelling distance of Dumfries.   

The Choir would offer a choice of songs from its repertoire. As with our concerts there would be a charge for the Accompanist, currently £50. An appropriate donation to Choir funds would be appreciated.
